Now hiring social media team members (August 2020)

Responsibilities include:

Posting photos and video that we provide you with a caption you write that is engaging, captivating, factual and educational, and conservation oriented.

Answering back to comments, DM’s, and some emails especially for media inquiries.

Some basic office assistance updating websites for events and responding to email inquiries is required but training is provided so no prior office experience is required but it is preferred.

No experience other than basics on how to edit video’s in i-movie or other programs (easy to learn) and basics on how to use instagram, tiktok, youtube, twitter and facebook required.

Other requirements:

  • You must already be on island (Oahu) **this is not a distance position**
  • You must be a legal US citizen
  • You must be familiar with i-phones and mac computers

**Important**You must really like dogs and cats and marine life **Important** we focus on animal conservation.

  • You must be available 5 days a week
  • You must be a good writer, we provide great photos, but a great caption helps us to achieve our conservation and brand goals. Please check out @oneoceandiving @Oneoceanresearch @oceanramsey @Juansharks @oneoceanconservation etc etc for samples of what type of caption writing we are looking for.

Pay:

It is a contract rate with minimum # of posts per platform required and bonus levels built into the contract, contract renewal and raises are based on performance.

Covid considerations:

This is a great job for covid as you do not need to physically interact with the public in-person but it is a part of the position to interact with the public answering questions and commenting back to people via social media.

Occasionally you will work with some of the founders and team on original content and video’s but we are limiting in-person contact and most in-person field projects as much as possible during this pandemic.

Safety Diver/Scientific Diver

We are always open to reviewing and saving applications for good future candidates for our safety diver-scientific diver position. Requirements:

  • 2-3 min breath-hold while swimming underwater with a freediving depth to at least 60ft.
  • Some degree in marine or environmental science related field or in a conservation related program.
  • PADI divemaster certification

Captain or Office position

We love and count on our office personnel and Captains to help to facilitate all of our conservation, research, and educational efforts.

If you love marine life and have office experience please send your resume in to be considered in our next round of hiring when we scale back up after the covid pandemic.
